Obviously dressed to go visit the Library of Congress, LOL! Not really, but it was magnificent place to shoot and I never realized how perfect it would be as a backdrop for photos! I sometimes forget how gorgeous DC architecture is and how perfect it is not just for outfit photos, but also to appreciate as well.
I had seen this skirt online… and since you know I love leopard, I had to grab it for myself! I loved that it wasn’t your standard neutral leopard, I liked that it had a pop of color to it, making it a bit more fun to pair with pieces.
With it still being chilly outside while shooting these photos, I again wanted to create a look that someone can wear out in winter/ spring and still be warm… while also being cute. That’s why I made sure to layer quite a bit and add tights as well!
I love the idea of mixing unique colors together to create a color palette like this. I wanted the green skirt to not be paired with something so obvious like black or white. So, I knew this suede jacket would be the perfect way to mix and match colors, while still looking put together! Plus, I had shoes that I knew would pair perfectly!
I still wanted to add tights into the look, since it is a bit chilly outside, so these patterned tights were the perfect addition. Not too patterned for the skirt, but just enough to have a little pattern play going and spice up the look a bit.
Also, instead of tucking in a tee or sweater, I opted for a cropped sweater with a tank tucked in underneath. Again, still chilly outside, so wanted to make sure I was being aware of the temps and keeping in mind that you may want to take your coat off… or drape it!
