Shipping containers–but make them sustainable (and fashion)

A little while ago, while driving out in DC near Navy Yards, I noticed these huge shipping containers somewhat neatly organized near Nationals Stadium. Intrigued, I drove closer and noticed they were actually being used as food and drink booths. I loved the idea so much that despite not being a baseball fan (I know, what kind of Dominican girl does not like baseball??!), I went back and had a couple of drinks. For those who enjoy live music, they also have that but I believe it’s only during the weekends (don’t quote me on this…).  My amazing photographer Pablo and I are always looking for new shooting locations so we decided to go back early a Sunday morning and snap a few pics. Here are some of the pics we took.

Back in February when I attended NYFW, I met a wonderful person named Bryanna thanks to my friend Denise of Fashion Love Letters. Bryanna used to work for the flagship store of RTR and we all quickly hit it off. For one of our outings, she was going to wear these gorgeous Kate booties by Paige (who knew they also made shoes?!) and as soon as I saw them, I knew I had to get them too. They were CONSTANTLY sold out in my size, but one day I lucked out and found them at Nordstrom. I received a lot of compliments on them and they are really comfy and can be worn dressed up or dressed down.

I love slip dresses because they are really versatile and you can easily wear them with a skirt over them, dress down with sneakers and a Tshirt over the dress, or dress up with a nice belt and sleek sandals for a night out. For this look, I decided to wear them with white booties, with a crop top underneath, and with statement earrings by Lele Sandoughi (courtesy of RTR unlimited).

What shoes have you purchased lately that you cannot stop wearing?

Xo,

Iris
